Simon, a 16-year-old suffocated by his strict Mormon upbringing, rebels and crosses the border with friends for a weekend in Canada, as they individually discover more about themselves.

Natalja, disconnected from her Norwegian and Russian roots leaving abroad formore than two decades, embarks on a journey to confront the inner turmoil stirred by the 2022 war. Upon crossing into Russia, first the sense of nostalgia and warmth from random strangers makes her feel as if nothing changed, but soon she encounters soldiers and civilians, family and friends whose pain and fear mirrors her own. She seeks to understand the cycle of suffering that binds them all.
